THE WINETASTING:The wine tasting room at Diemersfontein is open from 10h00-17h00 seven days a week. 

 This is great as many wine estates have limited hours and are often closed for one day of the week.  

Johan and his team will assist you in tasting their extensive wine menu, where you can try one of their food and wine pairings, or a platter prepared by Aan Tafel Restaurant on the stunning deck.

Diemersfontein has three ranges of wine, namely the Carpe Diem range, the Diemersfontein range and the Thokozani range.  The Estate is very well known for their two Pinotages, interestingly referred to as the Tale of Two Daughters.  The Carpe Diem Pinotage is one sister who is always striving for classic elegance, whereas the other sister, the Coffee Pinotage, is the true rebel and loved by all Pinotage.

THE MENU:On the menu was sweet pea puree with calamari, litchi & sweet chutney as a starter, and Cape Malay Chicken Supreme with bombay potatoes and a lentil salsa for main.
Both dishes were absolutely amazing.

THE EXPERIENCE:I would highly recommend you visit Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate, as their food and wines are as stunning as their scenery, and I really enjoyed reviewing it for my food and wine blog in Cape Town.
