ON THE MENU:
Jordan offer a 2 course, 3 course or 5 course menu. Of "course" we chose the 5 course wine pairing option
The First Course:
First up was lightly grilled Adam figs, toasted brioche, welsh rarebit, dehydrated onion, watercress and aromatic port.
~ It was paired beautifully with Jordan "The Real McCoy" Riesling 2017 ~
The Second Course:
This was a salad of hot smoked Glen Oaks pork cheek, shaved celery, toasted walnuts, fresh grapes and apple.
~ This course was expertly paired with Jordan "The Outlier" Sauvignon Blanc 2017 ~
The Third Course:
The 3rd course was pan roasted East Coast Hake with braised fennel bulb, smoked mussels, potato gnocchi and chive veloute.
~ We enjoyed the Jordan Barrel Fermented Chardonnay 207 with this course ~
The Fourth Course:
For the 4th course we had aged Chalmar Sirloin, glazed marrow, creamed potato, charred onion, peppered chard and spinach veloute.
~ This time the wine paired was Morgenster Reserve 2009 - wow! ~
The Dessert:
As our final course (and thank goodness for that, as I barely had any room left after all the delicious courses!) was the valrhona chocolate semifreddo, salted caramel popcorn, vanilla mascarpone and white chocolate pearls.
~Our last course was paired with Jordan Mellifera 2018 ~
THE EXPERIENCE
Lunch at Jordan was such an amazing experience, and a real pleasure to review for my food and wine blog in Cape Town. From it's tranquil setting , to the flavours of the food, the flawless service and friendliness of the staff makes this restaurant worth visiting over and over again.
In conclusion, their menu is small, seasonal and fresh, therefore you will most definitely not be disappointed when you visit here.
