Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa

16 Minor Road, Franschhoek

This hotel is situated in the beautiful Town of Franschhoek in the Western Cape.

It is just over an hour's drive from Cape Town, and yet when you arrive in this lovely town it feels like you are in another world.

Le Franschhoek offers the most stunning Hotel with Rooms, Suites and Villas and a choice of three Restaurants. It also includes Conference, Function and Wedding venues as well as the Camelot Spa.

I was really excited to review this experience for my food and wine blog in Cape Town. I must have taken about a hundred photo's and could have posted them all - it was so difficult to choose only a handful, as all of them depict Le Franschhoek so beautifully.

We enjoyed a glass of bubbly on arrival, then checked in and made our way up to our Deluxe Room to find a welcome bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (this was extremely welcome on a Friday afternoon after a long week of hard work!) We sipped this on the balcony whilst admiring the breathtaking views of the Estate and the Franschhoek mountains.

After freshening up we went downstairs to the Sauvage Restaurant for a delicious six course Degustation Wine and Dinner Experience (which I reviewed previously)

Gorgeous pool area, and even a hot tub :)

The following morning, after a wonderfully restful sleep, we enjoyed breakfast at La Pavillion Restaurant.

There was a huge selection of hot and cold dishes to choose from. I can honestly say that their hot breakfast was as good (if not better) than any freshly made homemade breakfast I've ever had. I usually find that at buffet/help yourself breakfasts the bacon is too crispy and the eggs too dry after standing for so long. This was not the case at La Pavillion - everything was delicious and fresh.

After our leisurely breakfast we took a walk around the huge grounds of the estate, to take a look at the various offerings Le Franschhoek has, and we ended up at the Camelot Spa which was a real treat, and a fabulous way to end your stay here.

I would highly recommend you visit Franschhoek, and in particular Le Franschhoek, due to the fact that from the minute you park your car outside until (sadly) checking out, the experience was amazing and absolutely faultless.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed my night at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa as well as reviewing it for my food and wine blog in Cape Town, and looking forward to returning to this magical place in the not too distant future.
