ICE CREAM & WINE PAIRING MENU:
MCC, Ellie paired with wasabi & pea Ice cream
Sauvignon blanc paired with green peppercorn & passion fruit ice cream
Pinotage Le Cafe paired with espresso ice cream
and finally:
Honeydew paired with smoke vanilla ice cream
It always amazes me how they manage to create the most unusual pairings, yet they manage to work.
3 COURSE FOOD & WINE PAIRING:
Each course was exquisitely paired with wine that complimented the food to to a tee, every mouthful was a delight and the wine that was paired was world class.
STARTER:
I started with the the Ostrich Carpaccio with butternut puree, spiced cashew nuts, greyere shaving, baby beetroot, lemon creme fraiche & micro herbs
MAIN COURSE:
My next course was Fillet Steak with mixed baby veg, gorgonzola & biltong "Pap" croquette, red wine jus
DESSERT:
The dessert I opted for was the Vanilla & white chocolate semifreddo. It encompassed peach jell, lemon curd, lemon shortbread and white chocolate dust
The Service
This was for a company function for 35 people. I dealt with Anita (front of house Manager), who was extremely accommodating and the event went off without a hitch.
Sufficient staff were on duty and they managed to bring all 35 plates of each course out at exactly the same time.
I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing this stunning restaurant for my food and wine blog in Cape Town and would highly recommend it as the service, food and wine were excellent.
