THE MENU
Entree: Tuna Tataki
I started with a tuna tataki with purple cabbage, grilled pineapple, sake-mirin compressed cucumber, crispy noodles, tamarind, sesame mayo, cashew, black bean, chilli and sesame seeds. It was out of this world and the fusion of flavours was sublime.
Main Course: Beef Fillet
Beef fillet, pea, oyster mushroom, baby corn, baba ganoush, steamed bun and port
Dessert: Valrhona Aero
Valrhona aero with Nutella mousse, banana-lime parfait, banana brûlée and hazelnut crumble. Yes, it was as good as it sounds, if not better!
THE EXPERIENCE:
The service at De Grendel Restaurant is always world class, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and cater to your every need.
You cannot go wrong in choosing De Grendel whether it's for a romantic dinner for two, a wine tasting, or a private or company function.
In conclusion, I regularly visit this wine farm as it is close to my heart (and my home), and I would highly recommend that you visit for a memorable experience and some really excellent food and wine. It was a pleasure reviewing the restaurant for my food and wine blog in Cape Town.
