THE EXPERIENCE
When we first arrived we took a walk around the vast grounds, including the Art Gallery, as it was my first visit to Lourensford. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of this Estate.
We decided to have something to eat at The Millhouse Kitchen, and opted for an anti pasti platter and a bottle of The River Garden Rosé, as well as their Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend which was to die for! We sat on the deck and took in the breathtaking views of the stunning gardens and surrounds.
It was fairly busy, and had a lovely friendly vibe about it. I would have loved to have indulged in some wine tasting, however their tasting room was closed due to Covid restrictions. I will definitely be back as soon as we are allowed to.
For dessert we had the most delicious dish that was kind of like a churro, but on steroids. Oh my word - this dessert alone is worth going back to Lourensford for.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed my visit to Lourensford Wine Estate, and would highly recommend (if you haven't already done so) that you visit them, to have a wander around the property, visit the art gallery, for vodka tasting as well as wine tasting. I will definitely return for all of the aforementioned activities. It was a great day out and an absolute pleasure reviewing Lourensford Estate for my food and wine blog in Cape Town.
