The Reserve Wine & Food Pairing
On the menu for the pairing was:
Biltong Soup:
Paired with Under Oaks Pinotage Reserve 2016
Venison Pie:
Paired with Under Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2016
Cream Cheese & Biltong:
Paired with Under Oaks Just B 2015
Cape Bobotie:
Paired with Under Oaks Shiraz Reserve 2016
The wines at Under Oaks are so good, it is really hard to choose a favourite. I found the Just B (reasonably priced at R150 a bottle) the smoothest, although their Pinotage is wonderful too. "The Secret" was in another class. It is a blend, and literally it is a secret that only the Winemakers
I really enjoyed my return visit to Under Oaks as much as my last visit and I find the place so tranquil and relaxed and would highly recommend it to any visitors, either local or from abroad. The staff are friendly and the wines are world class.
In conclusion: is always a pleasure to review this wine farm for my food and wine blog in Cape Town, and I will certainly be back soon :)
